Since Live Photos are nothing more than a glorified, built-in GIF generator on the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus, there's no reason why you shouldn't be able to get this "exclusive" feature on an older iPhone. While taking a Live Photo does eat up a lot of processing power, which the A9 chips can handle perfectly, older iPhones can still manager fairly well—no 3D Touch needed. You just need a jailbroken iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch to do it.

Step 1: Jailbreak Your iPhone

To get this exclusive iPhone 6S and 6S Plus feature, you will need to be running iOS 9 and jailbreak your device, as mentioned before. It's an extremely simple process that you can complete in less than five minutes, so don't worry.

Step 2: Install EnableLivePhotos

The conveniently named EnableLivePhotos tweak, from Neo Ighodaro, is free and available in the Cydia store from the BigBoss repo.

Step 3: Start Taking Live Photos

Because this tweak is so simple and straightforward, there are no preferences to adjust. Like the new iPhone models, just tap the Live Photos toggle within the Camera app to use it when taking pictures.

When sending or viewing the Live Photo in the Pictures app, all you need to do is tap to expand it, then tap-and-hold to play the three-second animation. And just like on the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus, these should work on the lock screen as well.
