Whether you're ordering a new 2019 iPhone model online or just want to know how they look in your hand before buying in person, use these printable cutouts to see which one looks and feels best.
The sizes of the iPhone 11, 11 Pro, and 11 Pro Max are almost identical to that of the 2018 models, the iPhone XR, XS, and XS Max. But if you're upgrading from an iPhone 7, 7 Plus, 8, 8 Plus, SE, or an older device, the new dimensions may feel odd to you in your hands. If you're coming over from Android, it'll be completely different.
While paper cutouts aren't going to match the depth and weight of the real devices, it's a pretty good option if no local stores are carrying the 2019 iPhone models. It's also good if you're preordering or want to shop online and aren't used to the iPhone XR, XS, and XS Max already. Preorders open on Sept. 13, and the in-store release is set for Sept. 20.
Download the PDF with the cutouts, then print it without scaling or adding borders. Use a standard letter-sized sheet of paper, 8.5 by 11 inches. Make sure to print it at 100 percent. If you want to double-check the dimensions with a ruler after printing, go ahead, to see if your printer settings are correct. If not, adjust them and try again.
- iPhone 11 (6.1-inch display): 5.94 (H) x 2.98 (W) x 0.33 (D) inches
- iPhone 11 Pro (5.8-inch display): 5.67 (H) x 2.81 (W) x 0.32 (D) inches
- iPhone 11 Pro Max (6.5-inch display): 6.22 (H) x 3.06 (W) x 0.32 (D) inches
To get a better feel for the devices in your hand, feel free to cut out cardboard at the depth listed above, and tape the cutouts to them. That still won't help with feeling the weight, but it's as good as it gets without getting experience with the 2019 iPhone models in person.
