Prepare yourself for a trip back to the days when a Sega Genesis was your gateway to premium gaming. The mid-nineties classic, Comix Zone, has been soft-launched in the Philippines, and while it's not officially available for gamers in the states, you can install it right now with a little hackery.
Sketch Turner is a comic book artist who was trapped inside his own nightmarish world by Mortus, the main antagonist of his work of fiction, who comes to life when lightning strikes a panel in his comic book. It's left to you to control Sketch as he fights his way through the post-apocalyptic landscape of his own making and save both it and the real world from the evil mutant who seeks to rule both.
Comix Zone can't officially be downloaded by anyone outside of the Phillippines due to region restrictions imposed by Apple. Don't worry though, as there's a way around this location lock. So if you'd like to give this throwback to a simpler time in gaming a try, read further to find out how.
Installing Comix Zone
To download and play Comix Zone, your iPhone, iPad, or iPad Touch will need to be on iOS 8 or higher. On top of that, the App Store's region lock will need to be spoofed to grant access for downloading. To do that, start by creating a new Apple ID using a realistic home address based in the Philippines.
After setting up a Filipino Apple ID, sign into the account on your iPhone, which will then automatically transfer you to the Philippines version of the App Store. If you'd like a detailed guide on the process of spoofing locations in the App Store, head to the following link to find out more:
Once everything's been properly set up, you'll now be able to perform a search and freely install Comix Zone just like you would any other app or game. So either search for the game in the App Store, or just head to the following link to download it.
Remember that Comix Zone is a soft-launched game, so you may encounter bugs and other issues while playing the game. We tested the game on an iPad Pro and an iPhone 7 Plus, which were both on iOS 10.3.1. During our tests, we found that the game ran perfectly fine on the iPad Pro, but was a little laggy on the iPhone 7 Plus. How's Comix Zone functioning in your iPhone or iPad?
